Pets (Animals) during car rental

More and more frequent are the questions and requests about what is applicable to car rental and the transport of your beloved pet.

Unfortunately there is no specific legal framework for rental vehicles but only for rooms to let without this being clear.

However, many vehicle rental companies make a serious effort to serve those customers who wish to travel with their beloved pet.

Renting a car to transport a pet is a simple process that requires mutual respect from both parties involved.

As you know a rental car is a means of addressing a wide audience and As should be respected by everyone who uses the vehicle , whether it is a group of friends or a family with young children the same should happen with pets.

Many car rental providers technically prohibit or avoid renting cars for the transport of pets, citing damage to the interior of the vehicle, bad smells or even an increase in the likelihood of an accident. All of these are perfectly legitimate and are valid reasons but there are always solutions.

When hiring a car and transporting your beloved pet, certain rules must be observed.

1. Transport in special pet transport cases (cages, suitcases, kennels, etc.)
2. For large pets, they should only be transported in the rear seats after we have placed a special cover on the seats (waterproof and hard) and always fastened with a seat belt.
3. Frequent stops during transport.
4. Also all pets should be accompanied by the their necessary documents.
5. If any special cleaning is required before or after the car rental, the lessee must bear the full cost of this.

Car rental companies should inform prospective renters of the above conditions and not be negative to customers with pets.
